“In recent years, teeth bleaching has become a huge phenomenon. More and more people are opting for teeth whitening to improve their smile. After looking at near perfect teeth of Hollywood celebrities and models, men and women of all ages are now using different methods available for teeth whitening. It is no mystery that whiter teeth gives a more youthful appearance.
As with everything else, teeth whitening isn’t perfect and it isn’t for everyone. Before you decide to have your teeth whitened, you should talk with your dentist.”

I can’t stress this enough  my people. The biggest craze is teeth whitening. For what? To have a whiter prettier smile ofcourse. Well i disagree with the craze of bleaching your teeth. I believe its more important to have a clean mouth then  to have white teeth. Ive worked in clinics, dealing with patients who were only concerned about whitening their teeth, and having those pretty smiles. I can understand why they want it, but in my opinion i feel it is better to take care of those 12 cavities in your mouth first. People fail to realize that having a great healthy mouth is more important then having a mouth that just looks healthy. Like looking great and having a great body but refusing to get routine doctor checkups, and refusing to go to the hospital when your sick. Wake up people! If you really want to have a great smile, have a healthier cleaner smile. Take care of those cavities, and bacterial infections in your mouth first. For one your teeth will last longer and second you can kiss your partner with confidence of not spreading anything. I know people dating, married, and have ate up mouths and continue to suck face with their partners. Disgusting… To alot of people it means nothing, like having sex with no protection. To me it means alot and I hope that you feel the same.

The military has a lot of great benefits if your interested in traveling and taking  care of soldiers. The military will pay for your dental schooling. After graduation you will be commissioned as an officer and sent to a designated military base to do your residency training. I hope you respect military cause thats all your going to see on  a daily bases. Soldiers that are going and returning from the desert need to be updated on their dental readiness. Depending on your specialty you wil  be doing a lot of dental exams. On some military bases you will have civilian dental assistants helping you out, but most military dentist have military dental assistants. You will work eight hour shifts monday through fridays. You are required to maintain top physical fitness, doing pt on your own time and passing the physical fitness test twice a year. The physical fitness test involves the push-ups, sit-ups, and 2 mile run. The number of repititions and run time will be judged on your gender and age. Failure to pass the pt test doesnt look good for dental boards and promotion. So make sure to train your body as well as your dental skills. Once you complete your residency, you will be assigned to a dental unit for two years if single and three years if with family. Assignments can be conus(state side) or oconus(out of country). Paid for by the government and you gotta love it. The military takes good care of medical/dental officers. The pay is great with continuing bonuses and little carrots to keep you happy.

Just info I tried to sum up and inform you on in case you were interested. ;)

I could never understand why my 3rd molar never grew in, until i read this Article. I fascinated to find out that some teeth may never grow in due to agenesis. I was amazed to find out this information. Also that the emergence of the first deciduous or baby teeth was an indication to extend the infant’s diet beyond breast milk alone. Second how permanent teeth were for more rigorous activities ( in my opinion crushing bones…). I agree with everything, especially the use of mouth guard while playing sports. I would hate to lose my teeth in a game of basketball. Main reason to stay on top of taking care of your teeth!! I would anyone who reads this gets alot of imformation from this. Which teeth grow in first? Decidious or Permanent?  How many teeth in decidious? 20 or 32? Info you can teach your kids, friends, parents, and whom ever concerned. What did you learn after reading this article and did it interest you? Its only basic information, but also good information for those questions you ask yourself why did one front tooth grow in? I enjoyed this article and agree 100%. Just more knowledge… Stay tuned…

Employment of dentists will continue to grow, generally to replace all the retirees. The demand for skilled dentists in many

trades will be around for along time. A lot of people are unhappy with their smiles and the need for corrective care will

stand for awhile. With dental insurance readily available people can afford the care. Cosmetic dentist will be in demand

especially in large city areas. Dentist skilled in cosmetic techniques, such as bleaching, veneers, and braces are in main

demand. Dentistry is focusing more on preventive care than reparative practice. The younger generation will continue to

need general dental checkups. The elderly people are managing their oral health a lot better, so dental care will be much

more needed than in the past. Continuous improvements in dental technology increase the patient comfort and the patient

load. Dentists that work in the military can advance through the ranks; in addition, the health care providers take boards

to earn rank and advance.

All 50 states require that Dentist be licensed. A candidate must graduate from a dental school accredited by the American Dental

Associations’ Commission on Dental Accreditation and pass written and practical examinations to qualify for license in most

states. Passing the National Board Dental Examinations will help candidates fulfill the written part of the exam. Dentist that are

only licensed in one state are required to take another exam to practice in other states. There is a remainder of twenty sates that

grant licenses to dentist from other states based on their credentials. There were 17 states that licensed or certified dentists who

planned on starting their residency in a specialty area, in 2006

Most dentists own their practice and set their work hours. Some dentist work four to five days a week, evenings, and weekends to meet patient needs. Spending 90 percent of the time treating patients, dentist can average up to 40 hours a week. They set up offices according to their individual taste. In the beginning dentist have to set aside decorating and focus on purchasing proper working equipment. In most dental clinics you will find a comfortable setting. In a dental environment you will see a receptionist, a hygienist, laboratory technician and a dental assistant. You will find in most dental clinics the assistant’s and hygienist take care of similar task, such as cleaning teeth, placing fillings, and applying sealants. This allows the dentist to perform higher paying procedures. Dentists that work in hospitals, public health center, military facilities, and major clinics are in place with conditions set by the employers.

Median annual earnings of salaried dentist were $136,960 in May 2006. Most dentists in private practice can earn anywhere from $166,460 - $261, 280 per year starting off. Income tends to rise very rapid when the dentist practice becomes set up. For both earnings can vary judging by the number of years in practice, location, hours worked, and specialty.  Salaried dentist receive higher benefits paid by the employer, like health insurance and malpractice insurance being the most common.  Dentist with their own business have to provide their own health insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, and many more benefits.  Like anything else, economic down turns can lower both salaried and private dentists earnings.

People have different views on Dentistry. I have heard many stories in my time in the field of Dental. Some people would tell me that they had an horrific experience when gettting their wisdom teeth taken out. I would rarely hear about anything good and motivational about seeing the dentist. I find it all very amusing. Dentist to me are a special breed. I have some that love their job, love the people, love the work, and look forward to making a diffference in someones gingiva… LOL… Seriously there are different strokes for different folks. Literally, because you have an appointment with a dentist who is bitter on the fact that he didnt make it into Medical school, and the dentist heart is not truly into the work. So the horrific experience results.

The dentist needs to have great skilled steady hands, spatial judgment, and artistic

ability. Dentist normally wear lenses to see further into the mouth, but having excellent

vision will help a lot when it comes to doing detailed work. Without good vision and

hands, you just can’t be a Dentist.Qualifications include diagnostic ability and manual

skills. Dentists should be very precise in their work. In dentistry, a millimeter off can be

a major mistake. There’s no ‘oops’ when you’re working on a patient. As a Dentist you

should have good hand eye coordination skills. The job requires that you have strong

hand eye coordination to be honest. You have to have a steady hand, and you need

good visual abilities. Depth perception and the ability to conceptualize in three

dimensions are both important parts of the work. Without good vision and hands, you

just can’t be a dentist. This is something you really don’t find out about until you’re

already in dental school. Working with dentists while in the military, I would hear

stories about people who got really good grades, but when it came time to do

laboratory work, they just couldn’t handle it. You see the key to being successful is

being skilled in all  your studies and the lab work. You will go far and be very successful

in the long run. Keeping a good business mind along with discipline and great

communication skills will help a lot. Reason because Im sure you will want to start

your own dental practice and build great customer networking. The better the people

skills, the heavier the patient load, the heavier your wallet will feel… ;)

So make your focus on the skills, as well as your studies and you will go far………………………………… Holla!!!

If you plan to pursue a career as a dentist make sure to study chemistry, physics, health, mathematics, and biology in high school. More important course’s like english and foreign language help in developing good communication skills. Dental schools require at least two years of college.  Professional training in a dental school generally requires a bachelors or masters degree. College grades and the amount of college that was completed get examined very closely. The Amercican Dental Association requires applicants to pass the Dental Admission Test. Mainly college undergraduates take many science courses when trying to get accepted to a dental school. During selection period dental consider DAT scores, grades point averages, and information given from interviews. Competition for admittance into dental school is very high. Dental school can last anywhere from two to three years. Dental class starts with laboratory work in science, including biochemistry, anatomy, microbiology, and physiology. In the last two years students will work on patients under the supervision of a licensed dentist. When the students complete their schooling they are awarded a Doctor of Dental Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. Afterwards most dentist will have a residency period to advance skills.

I never realized how much work goes into becoming a Dentist. To become a Dentist there are specific skills, work, that are performed and required. The work environment and hours are completely up to the health care provider. Dentist has a very good employment outlook for the future. As a health care provider, your advancement opportunities are based on reputation and your personal skills. Serious amounts of education and training are required to become a Dentist. These health care providers need to be certified and licensed to perform specific duties. The bonus of becoming a Dentist, like any other health care occupation is the salary and benefits. Dentist specific duties include examining oral hygiene and treating dental problems found in the patient’s mouth. Dentist provides health care that prevent problems in the future. Also in this profession they administer anesthetics, examine x-rays, remove tooth decay, refill the infected area with an amalgam or composite filling, and write prescriptive antibiotic medications for the patient. The Dentist skill of trade is very expandable. Oral surgeons extract teeth, perform corrective surgery on gums, supporting bones to treat diseases and then apply sutures to the gums. Cosmetic Dentist’s are skilled in bleaching and veneering techniques. Orthodontist applies braces to straighten crooked teeth or close spacious gaps between the teeth. The Dentist gives proper instruction on aspects of dental care; for example, the provider teaches proper dieting, brushing, flossing, and good fluoride use.
