She keeps music alive in her community

I meant a great lady in a blog today. Her name is Dr. Regina M. Lilly-Warner. She is the supervisor of Music, Library Media Services, and the Advanced Placement Program for the New Haven Public Schools. She is being honored for her tirelessly battle to keep the arts alive.

She started a school and it is known as the Neighborhood Music School (NMS). Nms had made it possible for inner city students to have free music lessons. These people otherwise could not afford evposure let alone classes of this calibur. There are one-hundred thirty professional teachers at the establishment. They provide classes and also one on one sessions for these students. Even better they also teach to the community.

That’s right everyone equally derserves music. The ages of the people in the school range between six months and 80 years old. This is so important. Music taught to the community helps young people appretciate what they have . Music now is help young people see opportunity. I believe that as young people watch there elders appreiciate music that they in return will see this school as a gift.

Recently education systems have been cuting there budgets. Unfortunatly, the arts have been the first thing to go. Older people in high places shave decideded that art, music, and sports are no longer important. This is not the case. For me personally music gave me a standard to maintain. I had to keep my grades up in order to play basketball and in order to stay active in the chorous. My basketball coach was a firm believer in education and she and my chorous teacher held weekly study groups. This is what helped me suceed in high school . My love of music and sports and also the great teachers who taught these classes.

saw a movie and heard a song in my head

They’re are tears in my eyes. I just saw the best movie. I watched “Why did I get Married”. I really enjoyed it and I implore any readers to watch. It shows life and the problems that people really do face.

Like I said .. I cried… because I love to see love win not only the battle but also the war. I cried… I cried because I am jealous

I want that in my life.

Are there any soul mates left. Not that I believe there are, doesn’t change the fact that I want mine.
