The Change
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
The only thing Obama is doing that I like is who he’s picking for his cabinet. Now, back to foreign policy again. It’s a little controversial the way he chose Hillary Clinton for secretary of state…considering the BIGGEST argument they had when she was running for prez was their differences in foreign policy! So obviously it looks like Obama is really trying to please just about everyone right about now, but i have to admit i like hillary more now than i ever have before. And if the world likes the name Clinton better than the name Rice, than we might just look a little better to in their eyes…just a little. Keep in mind the attacks in India by different terrorist factions might and probably will spread to other areas where westerners and Europeans visit and most likely will not change because we chose a very different prez than BUSH. AGAIN, keep in mind that they planned 9/11 way before George W bought his way into the white house.
So the CHANGE that I’m worried about is not the economy…really, it will come back especially since the media has to shut up with being super pessimistic and blowing some things way out of proportion. I think eventually Obama will do everything he has to with the advice and pressure of just about everyone around him to handle our national economy…so patience is key, it just will take time.
Now, what do we do about Israel talking about invading Iran because of a nuke threat? This could cause some trouble. I personally dont give a damn if Israel gets involved with them or if either country gets taken out. I’m sorry for feeling that way, its just that the US seems to always get into more trouble with Islamic Facists when we help out Israel, who supposedly stole and is holding the “Holy Gound” and refuses to give it back to the Muslim world. That’s how this whole problem started in the first place and don’t know if will ever end. I just don’t want to see more American lives shattered because of whats going on over there and I can only hope that our gov will eventually see it that way.
Here are the facts: we need oil, we have oil, we have to protect our influences and establish a much different relationship with the Middle East, we have to produce a plan of action and STOP attacking countries with the excuse of IMMINENT THREAT Bush! We did the same thing with Vietnam and that was a disaster. Usama Bin Laden is still a global threat and could possibly be dead but we need at least some proof of that. This is a man that has to fall, and then we’ll start working our way down the list.
Foreign policy has to be open to change, yet tight with scepticism as to who we deal with and who we defend when it comes to our foreign interests. Stop policing and start communicating with this new world we live in. Easier said than done I know, but lets start with baby steps here.

Can it ever work?

Interesting blog report here. This guy was trying to explain that democracy won’t work in the Middle East, and the US will ruin the chances of any kind of reasoning no matter what kind of influence we bring. Even if democracy is needed, it might be just an impossible feat to accomplish, and I can’t blame him for his practicality on this topic. We seem to be trying to separate religion and politics as much as we can in this country and I can’t help but to agree with it. I, although am not religious, believe that religious beliefs should have no interference what-so-ever with law…especially when it applies to people with other religions…conflict is almost certain to happen..and happen quickly. This is, however, much different in the Middle East. Politics and theology are inseparable, and disobeying the rules over there for whatever reason are cause for severe reprimand. How can you change that. Should you try? What good can come out of it? Can an open democracy ever work or are we just working on stopping terrorism and getting better positions on oil?

Economy

Two things that are destroying our markets and two things only…and it’s pretty hard to disagree with this, are DAY-TRADERS and the MEDIA. Foreign policy means working with other countries to find common ground so we can all live in peace and help each other out. Now, that’s what’s supposed to go on but it seems to be more of a “Who can be taken advantage of and who can’t.” We’re fighting a very costly war over seas, we know this. Unfortunately, yet again, we can’t drop everything and leave. Just too much at stake. In order for us to function as a country, especially with a war like this going on, our economy needs to hold up and become less volatile. So much for that. Mortgage got out of control, the real estate market tanked and with it followed all the banks who ran up the paper loans. With that, it scared the hell out of us so we liquidated stocks and funds to try and save whatever we had left. When this happens the market tends to crash and burn…multiple times over.
The problem with day trading, (and not average joe schmo day trading I mean big biz day trading), is when you constantly have millions of dollars fluctuating in an out of the market all day long, then NOTHING stays solid. This is why they banned shorting stocks for a few days after bailout requests went flying around. So if you are an average investor who’s looking at a weakening dollar, followed by jobs becoming less and less reliable, followed by watching your retirement funds getting smacked around, and having a new pres come in to take some of your cash to add for gov spending, it’s pretty easy to see why you would be burying your guns and money like you were a drug dealer on the run!
Top that off with the media throwing gloom and doom at you all of the time. So obviously consumer confidence is tanking in this country as fast as it’s manipulated dollar bill. Plus, our FOREIGN TRADE policies are ever getting more complicated. When did our NYSE start following the euro and asian markets??? I thought WE were the leaders of free enterprise and whatever moves we made everybody else reacted on.
Be smart, learn what holds up in shaken economic states, and realize that the market WILL come back into play…it just takes a while. And with this dying breed of very bull market investors right now than I believe the day traders will eventually get the picture that maybe stabilization is what’s going to get us through tough times. Get smart if you can’t be smart.

Obama

Hard to tell how this guy will run the country when he swears in. I do be that the economy will be again very heavy when this guy gets ahold of taxes for gov programs. Some people love him, I think he’s just another politician, and who can really afford to TRUST politicians. I know this is about foreign policy so I’ll get to that in a sec…but, the redistribution of wealth under a radical liberal will eventually kill this country, and by the word kill I mean that NO ONE will every be able to scratch their way up from the bottom and “MAKE IT” anymore. If you “make it” you will be penalized. Now, we all don’t like fat cats that run huge co’s, and I can understand why. But, if Obama does what he said he will do, then all business’s will have to suffer heavier tax demands. The problem lies with the American people themselves unfortunately. We just can’t agree on what’s free or not. I see this as freedom being a privilege these days…go to some other places in the world, see if they think you have the “right” to make your own decisions. Instead of “spreading the wealth”, which simply put means money will not solve the problem of poverty in this country, we need to create, create, create. We need things to be more cost effective so more companies can get off the ground and create jobs which in turn will create wealth, not just spread it. I’m not a republican nor a democrat, I just see things that make sense and some that don’t. We as americans need to quit maxing our living expenses and learn to control our wealth. One man cannot fix the credit crisis, it takes a whole lot more.
So if President Elect Obama starts taking our guns away so only the bad guys have them, and starts socializing private programs, and tries to start all of these “new” ideas, we are going to pay for it, whether they work or not. His outlook will affect how other countries view our interests. To be honest, I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I’d rather have Hillary. Obama scares me. He swings around with different views…basically, he didn’t stick to his guns, so to speak. His reverend who was a pretty radical guy was Obama’s friend for a long time. Then, it hurt his image so he denounced him. Then, Obama’s aunt was living here as an illegal. He went along with her deportation…a SENATOR! Who does that? Only a man who cannot hinder his image when running for presidency.
Scary part. I was in the Air Force for about 4 years and the FIRST thing I remember being taught was…if you are in uniform and you are walking by an American Flag, you better damn well solute it…now, Barack Obama was know as “Barry” Obama his whole life, then after college he went to Pakistan to visit with relatives and I believe he went to some other Middle Eastern countries as well…so why does this guy come back as BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA? Is he not proud to be an AMERICAN?? And OF COURSE, HE REFUSES TO SOLUTE THE AMERICAN FLAG! Who did we put into power? That’s enough on Obama.

Civilian Casualties
Filed Under Uncategorized | 4 Comments
Okay, now we have STILL Afghan civilians getting smoked when they are running into buildings when air raids are in progress. It’s like Vietnam, Al Queda has dug themselves into the small villages where civilians live and we have to somehow get them. Unfortunately, we’re too busy with Iraq to spend a lot of man power at this task. In my opinion, and I don’t think I’m alone on this, we should be looking for Bin Laden and exiting Iraq as soon as possible. But, as it always goes and you always hear, it’s just not that simple. So, we use air power on Al Queda and yes we do take out their headquarters…taking many civilian lives with them. Who really cares?? Is it possible that we are so preoccupied with how bad things can get that we start falling into the “Life is cheap” category. Don’t get me wrong I’m not out to save the world, and I know you have to break eggs to make an omelette, but that whole “Just Cause” thing is really backwards. For now, let’s stick to the point of getting out of Iraq, and maybe really try to find Bin Laden on a bigger front than just spec ops. And for those that are willing to die for him, let them die, but let’s really justify what a military point of interest is and where it lies…innocent dead people looks horrible for the world, and I’m sure we could do maybe a little better.

Foreign Policy in the Middle East
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
The reason why I picked this topic is because it happens to be the most controversal and energizing topic that I can think of. No matter who you are or where you are in this modern world you can understand the problems that arise when you even just hear the words “Middle East”. Many will say that Africa is just as bad, and that we don’t hear about that enough. I think the reason is that Africa has never been a world power like the countries of the middle east. I could be wrong about that one, but we’ll see…
Anyone who has been paying attention to that region of the world for any amount of time can understand the struggles that they’ve been plagued with, and that it seems to be getting worse! The United States along with Great Britain, and many others have taken advantage of the middle east and what it has to offer for us, not to mention also how we’ve tried to, some would say, “help” their situation out a bit. If you think I’m a little wrong well I might be, but I’m sure you’d be a little wrong, as well. That’s what makes this topic so interesting and controversial.
Just a few questions that I’m going to have to try and answer throughout this blog. If I can answer all of them with promising conviction I believe you can just elect me as President. So I’m going to try to figure out some solutions to this problem that we all seem to notice, but I don’t think anyone can do that to be honest with you.
So how do we figure out what to do with that section of the world? Should we care? Yeah, because that’s where most of the world’s crude oil is, and since it’s the MOST used commodity in the world I’d say it’s a pretty important factor. Should we continue to back up Israel? We helped build Israel. Did we not? Why do the middle eastern countries despise Israel? We helped them take the “Holy Land” from the Palestinians, and that basically added fuel to a fire that’s been burning for about 2000 years…maybe more. Why do we seem to arm countries then have to fight them some years later??? Why Sept 11? Why Iraq? Why are we desperately trying to keep the Pakistani government from falling out of power? And why are we really trying to keep Iran under control without firing a shot?
It’s a very scary part of the world with maybe some potential in the next century or two, but does anyone honestly think it can ever become a world destination? Dubai? LOL, It doesn’t stop confusing the western world that’s for sure!
