ethanol fuel
Filed Under Uncategorized | 3 Comments
i recently read about ethanol and hows it works and it is very interesting. Ethanol is grain alcohol. In the United States, it’s usually made from corn. There are a couple of ways to make fuel-grade ethanol, and one of the most common ones is the dry-mill method. Added in small amounts to the gasoline that fuels our cars, it reduces greenhouse emissions like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. But only a relative handful of vehicles can run on this mix and it’s not commonly stocked in gas stations. The problem with using ethanol as fuel in a large-scale way comes down to two main problems. One there is not nearly as much energy in ethanol as there is in gasoline. Also it creates significant amounts of energy from food crops would deplete the amount of land available for growing actual food for people to eat. It is proven that it helps and is reducing the emission alot but is not a cure all solution for this huge problem at hand.

Diesel chosen over hybrids
Filed Under Uncategorized | 3 Comments
I recently read about diesel vehicals being the next purchases for vehicales over the hybrid cars. They are able to still have the power and comfort of a reguarl vehicale and yet still get better gas milage. Diesel is getting alot better as far as burning alot cleaner and have came far since the old diesel motors. Regular gas powered cars are not in the lead still with diesel right behind them followed by hybrid, hydrogen , and electric.
I can understand the demand for diesel even with the high prices for the power, gas mileage, and comfort of a everyday vehicale. Untill the hybrid is able to be more like modern day cars and fit the everyday citizens people wont be interested untill they are forced to.

Wind power
Filed Under Uncategorized | 4 Comments
A very interesting source of power is the wind power because it is a clean source. THe wind and solar energy sources are going to be the best sources because of the clean asspect and not even to say the long last ablity. Just think about the amount of jobs as well that would be created if the goverment would help back wind energy and solar in america. The amount of people without jobs is growing and we need to bring some back to america so not only would we be gaining with getting clean safe renewable fuel source but bringing jobs to the everyday americans as well. Florida along with many other states would be a great source of fuel to start with getting wind power plants set up as soon as possible. According to www.alliantenergykids.com In Iowa alone 600 wind turbines are producing enough energy to serve 140,000 homes. The great possiblity with wind power is endless and looks to be one of the best sources so far. The bigger the better with the wind trubines as well to creat maxium wind power. Some of them even reach a high of 240 feet tall. California leads the country with 900 wind trubine farm which will hopefully become a example for the rest of america in our goal for a more clean and environmentally sound fuel source.

Various Fuel Sources
Filed Under Uncategorized | 4 Comments
In today’s society the effect of high fuel prices has lead to people being more interested in alternate fuel sources. Everything from people looking on line to increase there fuel mileage to back yard experiments it seems to me people are looking for a solution to this major problem. Fuel is something that most have taken for granite over the years and finally people are stepping up saying thats enough.
There are many different types of alternate fuels being researched such as wind, coal, and solar as a few. One of the biggest questions out there is how long is it going to take before one of these new sources is out on the open market. All of these sources still have to be able to compete with current sources of gas.
I have seen a huge increase of hydrogen systems in cars and truck to help with gas milage as well as people making their own biodiesel in there back yards. The demand for a new source is at its highest and with a election right around the corner it will be interesting to see how long this process with take. The demand for oil overseas will hopefully be over with the invention of a new more cleaner and environmental friendly and renewable source.
