Drug use in America

Drug use in Amereica is becoming more and more acceptable. This includes both illegal and legal drugs. It seems like if you go to the doctors office you will always leave with a prescription of some kind. I don’t think the doctors are explaining just how addictive these prescription narcotics are, and these people recieving the medication are completely unaware to what they are recieving. This is of course just my opinion. I have personally witnessed good drug free people who became severely addicted to prescription narcotics. These people can not function without the narcotics, and in some cases can not even make it out of bed. It is so bad that I will not even take any prescription narcotics myself, due to the fact that I do not want to end up like those I have seen, even if the doctor suggests I need them. I know of more than one case where individuals have even overdosed on these prescription narcotics, and died, but yet the doctors are still giving them out like candy. Some doctors have even been arrested. This is still just one example of bad use of drugs in America. Some of these people taking their prescription narcotics are running out before their next batch, so now they are resorting to finding them on the streets, or stealing them from pharmacies. Again, these were at one time good, drug free, working, middle class citizens, who are now addicted to drugs and have a criminal record. These are of course some worst case scenarios, but these are just the people that I know, or knew personally. This is only in one area of Florida not to mention the rest of Florida, and the United States.
