Christmas
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year. When it becomes Christmas time people automatically become much happier, houses become all decorated and lit up. Our house for example, is always completely decorated with lights and snowmen. It is a very special time for time me because it is the only time of the year that I see everyone from my family. I enjoy going out and trying to decide what presents I will getting for them and picking out holiday cards. We all gather together at my house and exchange conversations about whats new in each-other lives. We take lots of family pictures and record family home videos. On Christmas Eve we all gather together and eat Christmas Eve dinner. Every year we celebrate our holiday tradition. After dinner we each pick out the smallest present from under our tree and open them. Then we go to bed and wait for the suspense of the next morning. Once Christmas day finally arrives everyone gathers around the tree and rips open their presents and we take turns taking tons of pictures and videos. After opening presents we all go to the kitchen and drink eggnog. After eggnog we eat all eat Christmas lunch and try out our new gifts. I am so excited that it is Christmas time and I can’t wait to celebrate this year.

Obesity
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Obestiy is a huge growing problem in the United States. Thirty one perfect on adult males were considered obese in 2003-2004 and 33.3 percent were considered obese in 2005-2006. Of the woman adults 33.2 perecent were obese in 2004-2005 and 35.3 percent were considered obese in 2005-2006. With a great deal of adults overweight their numbers are sitll growing, their childern are most likely to become overweight. The reasons that obesity is such a bad health condition is because it increases the risk of many diseases and other health conditions such as Coronary heart disese, type two diabetes, cancers (endometrial, breast, and colon), hypertension (high blood pressure), dyslipidemia (for example, high total cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides), stroke, liver and gallbladder disease, sleep apnea and respiratory disease, osteoarthrities, and gynecological problems (abnormal menses, infertility). Gaining weight is much easier to do than to lose it which is why I believe that many Americans remain obese. There are many ways to become healthier. When losing weight, more physical activity increases the number of calories your body uses for energy or “burns off.” The burning of calories through physical activity, combined with reducing the number of calories you eat, creates a “deficit” that results in weight loss the most weight will occur form the decrease of calorie intake

Alligators
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Alligators are very scary animals. One time when i was younger I came home from school and found an alligator in my pool. I thought I was dreaming and was totally unaware of what I should do. In complete shock I ran to the phone and immediately called Bush Wildlife. As I waited for them to arrive I grabbed my camera and took a picture of the 6 foot alligator swimming around in my pool. I had to be very cautious that I kept my little puppy inside of my house so that the alligator could not get to it. When Bush Wildlife arrived they went around to my pool and used a pole to maneuver the alligator out of the pool into the cage. Unluckily for us the alligator did not want to caught. Bush Wildlife had to sit in my backyard for 35 minutes trying the capture the alligator. After briving the alligator with meat they were finally able to haul the alligator into their truck. A few weeks after my run in with the alligator I went to Bush Wildlife to visit. I was happy to see that my friend was doing very well. It even looked like he had gotten bigger! Since the incident with the alligator I have seen him three or four times. He is now somewhere roaming around the Florida Everglades.

Quitting Smoking
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
One of my goals was to limit the amount of cigarettes I so smoke to five a day. I began this semester smoking an average pack per day. The biggest challenge about this goal for was being around other friends who smoke. When they light up it automatically makes me want a cigarette. Another obstacle is partying with my friends; everyone knows that when you consume alcohol it enhances your desire to smoke. This also made me consider that drinking less would help me achieve my goal. I am aware that each year, 440,000 people die in the United States die from tobacco use. In order to help me achievbe this goal I did research about how dangerous smoking cigarettes really are. I learned that cigarette smoking accounts for at least 30% of all cancer deaths. Another thing that I was never aware of is how much money I actually spend on cigarettes. It is around $3.50 per pack and I was buying a pack every day for four years. This means though out of my lifetime I have spent $5,11o on cigarettes. In the beginning of setting this goal it was very difficult to stick with it. I tried to chew gum whenever I started to crave a cigarette. I knew that in order to fully compete my goal I needed to spend less time going out and more time working on my priorites. Once this became more of a habit for me I was able to smoke only a half a pack of cigarettes per day. I kept working on it and with the help of friends and fmaily I began smoking less and less. I also started to do more physical activies such as football with friends and I quickly learned that if wanted to keep being able to play I would have to stop smoking because it was extremely tiring and I was constantly out of breath. After four months of working very hard to achieve my goal I am finally down to five cigarettes per day. In the future I hope I will be able to completely quit smoking cigarettes forever.

life as a WNBA star
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Life as a superstar and millionaire is the last thing that a WNBA player will achieve. With no fan base for this rediculus league women still thrive to make it into the WNBA. If these women studied half as hard as they practice free throws they would be making more money and have an actual carrer that would last four times as long. The WNBA is about as much fun to watch as watching a piece of cheese melting on the hot sidewalk. With the low scoring low percentage shooting and no dunking you are able to watch teams miss shoots untill a girl gets a fastbreak and barely makes the lay up. The average WNBA star makes between 45,000 and 52,000 about the same as a experienced high school teacher. With the WNBA average attendence around 8,000 a night in a 90,000 plus arena I wonder is this amount of money and this little fanbase is it worth being that unattractive for this minor talent. I am all for womens rights but it is a joke when i turn on espn and see women attempting to play basketball it they continue televising it they should put it on lifetime or oxygen. When college girls basketball sells more tickets than a professional team the owners should really start to think of what they wasted their money on.

The blog that i reed was very interesting it showed a video clip of a candaian football team scoring and celebrating like a bunch idiots with four grown men sitting in a circle in the endzone while the one who scored runs around them to play duck duck goose in front of the other team. The bloggers topic was this is why canadian football sucks. The blogger explains that the longer fields and less plays per possesion leads to less fans. The Canadian football leauge is a joke if you cannot play in the NFL get a job. This goes for another stupid game that is somehow on T.V and tries to draw crouds, which is arena football. Arena football has much diffrent rules it has a smaller field with no sidelines more like a wall for hockey. In the Arena leauge fans can block the passes out of the air and interfear with play. The Candian leage at least has hometowns and rivalries amoung the provinces. There was one great player that played in the canadian league his name was Doug Flutie from Boston College he would have went straight to the NFL if he were taller, he was olny 5″10 in cleats. After setting every passing record in the CFL he came to the best team in the NFL the Buffalo Bills to try and replace a great Jim kelly from Miami University. He failed probably because he was to old.The problem is that their is so much talent that come out of small schools or large schools that do not get drafted and know nothing else to do.

single parent families
Filed Under Uncategorized | 2 Comments
Many American children are growing up with olny one parent in their life. This makes everyones life change dramatically with the child olny having one parent to go to about their problems and the single parent usually has to work two jobs just to support their child. Leaving the child home alone all day or in a child day care. I think that before a child is born the father and mother should both agree to devote their lives to the newest family member entering their life.

I am extremly excited to finally see the college football season begin, no more reruns on saturdays we have non stop excitement, emotion and, pride also known as collegic football. Rivalry games such as ohio state and michigan, or florida and slorida state no matter what the record is the game is up for grabs. Collegic players play with their heart still even if they do not go to the NFL they play like it is the last game of their life. With so much competition teams cannot afford to lose a single game to complete their goal for their season, to win the national championship.
